DISASTER IN A McDONALDS
Gutful of Sausage McMuffin,
I retreat to Starbucks,
reeking of grease and cigarettes.
Arriving early at Kokubunji Station,
I decided to chance the Golden Arches.
Worse than anticipated: 7:16 am;
half staffed cashier frantic from
coffee maker to deep fryer to grill.
Second floor filled by slumped
salarymen, jabbering students;
everybody sucking cancer, eating
McCrap.
Its A Man`s World, James Brown croons
as I order my grande latte.
Better tell that to the boys across
the street.
